Both the Ferrari FXX K and McLaren P1 GTR represent the track-restricted models of the two industry-defining hybrid hypercars. While on paper they promise similar performance, the FXX K and P1 GTR each have their own appeals and arguably of most importance, produce truly unique engine and exhaust notes.

In order to give us an idea of how the P1 GTR and FXX K sound head-to-head, the following video has been posted online. It shows the two cars tacking the Spa Francorchamps circuit at separate track days and perfectly showcases some of the auditory differences between the two.

As you’d imagine, the McLaren P1 GTR is quite comfortably the quietest of the two. This is because its 3.8-litre V8 engine uses two turbochargers while the FXX K’s V12 engine is naturally aspirated and augmented with an electric motor for additional power. So while the FXX K is certainly the loudest, does that mean it sounds the best?

We’ll leave that up to you to decide!
