It has been revealed that the very first customer for the brand new Bentley Bentayga is none other than Queen Elizabeth II.

While speaking with Bloomberg recently, the company revealed that the British monarch test drove a Bentayga prototype and was so impressed with it that she’s decided to add it to her large fleet. She plans on using her Bentley Bentayga at one of her estates in Scotland during hunting trips. The car will therefore spend much of its time off road.

The Queen already has a Bentley Mulsanne in her collection and receives cars from Jaguar Land Rover and Bentley as part of an agreement with the royal family.

So far, only the range-topping model has been introduced. It utilises the Volkswagen Group’s brand new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine delivering 600 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque. This makes for a sprint to 96 km/h in just 4 seconds as well as a top speed of 301 km/h.

Inside, the Bentley Bentayga is exceptionally luxurious, even more so than other existing Bentley models. It features a full-length panoramic sunroof as well as a large 8-inch infotainment system with a touchscreen and 60GB harddrive. Elsewhere is a 10.2-inch removable Bentley tablet running on Android and complete with 4G and WiFi for the rear passengers. There are three different audio systems available with one unit from Naim a 1950 Watt system complete with 18 speakers.
