A couple of images have just surfaced online showing the latest McLaren P1 to come through the McLaren Special Operations division. This particular P1 is chassis number 300 and has appropriately been dubbed ‘Project 300’ by the British marque.

The most revealing image posted online by rhadzespina on Instagram shows that the McLaren P1 ‘Project 300’ will be amongst the most heavily customised P1s created so far. For starters, we can see that it has been painted silver and features numerous carbon fibre components like the front splitter, side skirts, wing mirrors, doors and two elements of the bonnet.

The most intriguing element of the car however are the carbon fibre louvers located on the front wheel arches making this P1 the very first to have them. Completing the exterior design are a range of bright red elements and gloss black wheels.

McLaren recently revealed that its McLaren Special Operations division almost never says no to the requests of a customer unless safety standards are compromised by new body parts. These louvers are clearly more focused on looks than aerodynamics and certainly give the British hybrid hypercar a really eye-catching look.

Stay tuned to GTspirit as official pictures of the car are likely to emerge soon.
