The 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster is celebrating its European debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2015. First showcased at the Monterey Car Week 2015, it is the fifth model from the Italian marque to wear the ‘SV’ badge and we had a look at Frankfurt.

The Aventador SV Roadster is powered by the same upgraded 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine as the coupe. This means the power output of the car stands at 740 hp. Moreover, despite weighing 50 kg more than the SV coupe, the Roadster can rocket to 100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds which is just 0.1 seconds slower than its already sold-out counterpart. The top speed stands at 349 km/h. Interestingly, that weight figure means the Aventador SV Roadster weighs the same as the standard Aventador Coupe.

The SV Roadster features all the same visual and aerodynamic modifications as the coupe, except of its obvious removable top. Like the standard Aventador drop-top, the roof has to be removed by hand but is now exceptionally light tipping the scales at just 6 kg. This is because it is made entirely from carbon fibre.

  1. I like the 2014 roadster better. Lamborghini is a beautiful car, why do they have to make a new one every year? It Ruins the reputation of elegance in my opinion. I’m one man and also a nobody but I do intend to be an owner someday and IN MY OPINION the newer the models get the uglier they are becoming.
