When the latest BMW M3 and M4 duo launched, there was much debate about its brand new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder used in place of the previous car’s burbling V8. While some enthusiasts are still unconvinced about the new engine, the following video should convince you that the new M3/M4 are certainly a step up over the old car.

While the M4 only features 11 hp more than the M3 for a total of 425 hp, the real difference between the new and old car is in terms of torque. Thanks to the M4’s use of forced induction, it delivers 40 per cent more torque than the E92 M3 and importantly, the new car also weighs about 200 kg less.
