A station wagon is a must have car for those who need extra space in a vehicle, easy loading of goods, are aggressive shoppers or generally lovers of the estate style. Most station wagons are found within the entry models of most car makers focusing on practicality, affordability and towing capacity. High performance models are a bit pricey and never make it to all markets as seen in the case of the Audi RS6 Avant.

But we are not here to talk about what we have already, we are here to look at what we can’t have…

Rain Prisk Designs focuses on automotive design and has some of the best renders out there. He has caught our attention once again after rendering a few station wagons based on select modern sports cars. Enjoy the list below and feel free to post your thoughts in the comments box!

7. 2015 Ford Mustang GT Station Wagon

Mustang station wagon

This one would essentially fall into a hatchback category. It’s based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT V8. A three-door configuration and wide flares giving it that “Allroad” look. Why not?

6. Subaru BRZ Station Wagon

Subaru BRZ Hatchback

Based on the Subaru BRZ, we would not be surprised if we see one in the future, bearing in mind that Subaru has been successful with hatchbacks in the past as seen with the Subaru WRX STI hatchback.

5. Nissan GT-R Station Wagon

We’ve already featured this Nissan GT-R wagon here before. In the past, a few tuners have converted Skyline GT-Rs into wagons mostly fitting the front fascia on a different wagon.

4. 2016 Camaro SS Station Wagon

Camaro station wagon

Based on the 2016 Camaro SS, this hatchback render looks nearly perfect to the point of wishful thinking. With a V8 upfront and a caravan at the back, your summer vacation just got fancier.

One Camaro owner said, “As a Camaro SS owner and enthusiast, I would gladly have this. The notorious blind spot would be gone and there is so much more room for activities. Keep up the great rendering work.”

3. Dodge Viper Station Wagon

We have seen several Viper estate renders in the past but this one looks even better. It was rendered as a shooting brake variant with a bike rack on the roof. Callaway Cars have already created an estate version of the Corvette so don’t be surprised if you see this in the near future.

2. Aston Martin Station Wagon

This one would not be that much of a shocker as coachbuilders like Zagato have already created shooting brake variants of Aston Martin models. Nonetheless, it’s still refreshing to see a different approach on how an Aston Martin shooting brake or hatchback would look like.

1. BMW i8 Station Wagon

Our top pick is this BMW i8. It’s crazy to even imagine that BMW would create one but it somehow fulfills some degree of want. Be sure to check out more of Rain Prisk Designs on his Facebook page!
