Porsche has launched the 2016 911 GT3 RS in Lebanon. The unveiling took place at the The Gathering, in the capital city of Beirut. The German company also showcased the Cayman GT4 at the event. However, although the GT4 will arrive in Lebanon soon, no official launch date has been confirmed.

The current generation 911 GT3 RS was first showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. Compared to the standard GT3, the RS variant gets a more aggressive exterior look. Inside, there are bucket seats and a roll-cage. Moreover, the 991 GT3 RS gets a bigger engine with the 3.8-litre unit present in the 991 GT3 substituted with a 4.0-litre unit that produces 500 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Power is transferred to the rear axle via a 7-speed PDK gearbox.

The 911 GT3 RS can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h. By comparison, the 911 GT3 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h. Porsche claims that the GT3 RS has a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of seven minutes and 20 seconds, making it the fastest 911 of the present generation around the track.

Porsche had also invited one of its clients to get his 918 Spyder, which was earlier revealed at a private gala in Lebanon. Porsche sells its entire model range in the Asian country, being a rather popular brand there. In places like Beirut, one can’t just go on the streets and not see a Porsche.
