The facelifted Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG has been spied in the midst of testing for the very first time. It is likely to be renamed the Mercedes-AMG SL63.
As we’ve come to expect from facelifted Mercedes-Benz models, the refreshed SL63 AMG will only receive minor visual modifications compared to the current car. Most notably, the front-end will be refreshed and incorporate headlights similar to those from the S-Class Coupe which include Multibeam LED technology.
Moving towards the rear, the facelifted SL63 AMG will adopt thinner taillights alongside redesigned exhaust tips and a new bumper. As is typical of AMG-branded models from the German marque, the new SL63 will be differentiated from run-of-the-mill SL models thanks to bolder and more aggressive bumpers, quad exhaust pipes and new exterior badging.
Beyond the refreshed exterior, the new SL63 AMG will receive a refreshed interior adopting a tweaked version of the marque’s COMAND multimedia system.
Under the skin, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG SL63 is speculated to receive a tweaked version of the current car’s twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 rather than AMG’s latest 4.0-litre TT unit. For use in the facelifted SL63, it will receive minor power and torque boosts.
