2016 Lexus LX 570 front

The wraps have just been taken off the new 2016 Lexus LX 570 at Monterey Car Week 2015 after the Japanese marque confirmed it would be debuting two updated models throughout the event.

At the front, the new LX 570 unsurprisingly features the Japanese marque’s identifiable spindle grille which due to the size of the off-roader, is comfortably the biggest grille in the Lexus range. It certainly gives the LX 570 an eye-catching look. It has then been confirmed with a pair of new LED headlights as well as a sharp set of vertical fog lights.

Elsewhere, the updated 2016 LX 570 includes a set of redesigned taillights and comes standard with 20-inch 10-spoke wheels.

Powering the car is a 5.7-litre V8 engine delivering a total of 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque at 3600 rpm. Mated to this engine is a new eight-speed automatic transmission rather than the six-speed ‘box of the outgoing car. All told, the LX 570 can tow over 3100 kg. Another new feature is the Drive Mode Select which tweaks both the throttle response and suspension calibration with four driving modes available; Eco, Comfort, Sport and Sport +.
