A Dodge Viper has been badly damaged after crashing at Germany’s most famous race track.

Just a few days ago, the owner of a second-generation Dodge Viper took out the American supercar onto the notoriously dangerous Nurburgring Nordschleife. Things didn’t go to plan however after the driver lost control and the car slammed into the unforgiving crash barriers.

As the following video shows, the car started to understeer halfway through a left hand corner. This pushed it wide onto the curb unsettling the car enough for its rear-end to begin to slid. The driver was unable to catch the slide. It then continued to spin until it smashes into the steel from the passenger side.

Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. The impact was forceful enough for the passenger to slam their hand into the side window which amazingly didn’t smash on impact.
