BMW M2 coming standard with 6-speed manual

The official dealer options list for the upcoming 2016 BMW M2 has just leaked online with it confirming that the sports car will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox as an option.

The leaked information comes courtesy of the 2Addicts forum. It also confirms that the M2 will be available in four exterior colours; Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Long Beach Blue and Mineral Grey. Interestingly, the only interior option will be black leather with blue stitching while just a single wheel option will be available. Those wheels will be 19-inch and finished in black.

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that the Navigation Pro system will come as standard while power heated seats will be an option. Elsewhere, carbon fibre inserts will come standard as well parking sensors at the rear while the advanced Harmon Kardon audio system will be an optional extra as will adaptive headlights.

Beneath the skin, the M2 is tipped to feature a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine delivering a total of 365 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque. Alongside these new power and torque figures, it is suggested that the BMW M2 will feature a torque overboost system which sees twisting power bumped up to 368 lb-ft. What these figures mean is that the BMW M2 will have at its disposal an extra 44 hp over the already brisk BMW M235i. Consequently, 100 km/h should fly by in less than 4.5 seconds.
