25-Meter Lamborghini Gallardo Erected Outside Anji Arena in Russia

A 25-meter Lamborghini Gallardo has been erected outside the Anji Arena in Russia. The bizarre creation is said to celebrate the football club’s promotion to the Russian equivalent of the Premier League. The club was promoted this year following its earlier relegation from the league.

FC Anji are a Russian football club based in the city of Makhachkala. In 2011 they were purchased by billionaire Suleyman Kerimov who set about spending massive amounts of money to bring in big names such as Roberto Carlos, Samuel Eto and manager, Guus Hiddink. The spending spree came to an end in 2013 when Kermiov decided to reduce the team’s annual budget by two-thirds. It seems they recovered form this season.

Whilst the history is clear, the significance of the 25-meter Lamborghini is less clear. What we do know is that Suleyman Kerimov is an avid collector of exotic cars. Eto and Carlos were regularly spotted in Aston Martin One-77’s and Bugatti Veyrons. Kerimov is also known to own a brace of Pagani Huayras and once crashed a black Ferrari Enzo at high speed in Nice.

It is thought that the Lamborghini Gallardo will remain in place outside the Anji Arena for the foreseeable future as a “symbol of big and bright success”…
