Blue MSO McLaren P1

Deliveries of the McLaren P1 are continuing after all 375 examples were fully allocated in 2014. The hybrid hypercar has proven to be a huge success representing McLaren’s flagship car and taking the crown as the ultimate performance car in a number of tests and reviews.

Here we have a spectacular looking example that we recently transported from MTC in Woking to its new owner in Texas, USA. The colour was created by McLaren Special Operations. Named Hot Blue, the deep colour looks fantastic on the curves of the car and works very well with the contrasting black door inserts as well as the extensive use of bare carbon fibre.

As a reminder, the P1 features the 3.8 litre V8 M838TQ engine (upgraded from the M838T of the 12C production road car). Whilst on paper it looks to share similarities with the 12C’s powerplant, that is far from the full picture. The McLaren P1 features a completely re-engineered twin-turbo variant of the V8 powerplant.
