Volkswagen Group tuning experts ABT Sportsline have released the details of their new tuning package for the third-generation Audi S8. ABT says its kit transforms the S8 into a car that accelerates as fast as a Ferrari or Lamborghini but is “not uncomfortable, noisy and cramped.”
ABT’s upgrade kit bumps the power of the 4.0-liter TFSI S8 from an already substantial 513 horsepower to 675 horsepower, while torque also climbs from 650 Nm to 850 Nm. This is achieved through simply installing the ABT ‘Power S’ engine control software upgrade and a set of ABT mufflers. The package has been tested on public roads for its durability and comes with a 2-year, 100,000 km warranty.
The ABT-tuned S8 will reach 0-100 km/h in an incredible 3.6 seconds and can top 290 km/h, but to the untrained eye, it may look like any standard German executive sedan. ABT keeps the visual enhancements to a minimum, however the car pictured here does include a set of black 21-inch ABT DR wheels. These wheels are also offered in a smaller 20-inch size and available in a gun metal finish.
