Mercedes-Benz S-Class Spotted on the Streets

Just over a week since the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe was officially unveiled, the official dark green car used in some press pictures has been spotted undisguised in public! While this S-Class Coupe is clearly still a prototype, we must say, it looks absolutely beautiful in the flesh and we can’t wait to see more of them on the road! As you probably know, the S-Class Coupe will debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2014 next month.

As it stands, the first variant to be introduced is the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S 500 Coupé. Just like its sedan sibling which we had the lucky chance to drive last year, the S 500 Coupé features a 4.6-liter V8 biturbo engine delivering a total of 455 hp and a peak of 700 Nm of torque. Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz has yet to release performance times for the new Mercedes-Benz S 500 Coupé but that shouldn’t be surprising considering this car is all about luxury and style and not outright acceleration nor top speed.

From a design standpoint, the road-going Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe remains very true to the original Coupe Concept revealed last year. The front-end is significantly sleeker than the sedan’s and is more vertical than the Coupes while also featuring more traditional headlights, albeit complete LED units. However, in our opinion, it actually looks better than the original concept!

The stunning sleek design continues through to the rear where the S-Class Coupe maintains similar taillights to the concept while featuring a more aggressive rear bumper and rear diffuser. And don’t forget that the S 500 is the base S-Class Coupe meaning future models including the AMG variants will be even more aggressive! If you look closely at the side profile, it has maintained similar lines as to those from the CLA-Class and when combined with the flowing roof, and extremely sleek windows, there’s no doubting that the fact that the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe is a truly breathtaking car to look at!
