Land Rover have announced two debuts for the Geneva Motor Show 2014. Both models are assigned to the Range Rover Evoque range. They are the Range Rover Evoque Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic. Land Rover say that they will help to bring added luxury and performance to the Evoque.
The Autobiography name is introduced to the Land Rover Evoque for the first time. It denotes the luxurious top of the range model. Two new models will be available for 2015: the Autobiography tops the range, the Autobiography Dynamic gets a 2.0 litre petrol engine with 285 hp and an optimised chassis for enhanced performance and sharper handling.
The Autobiography cars also feature Land Rover InControl Apps which allows vehicle-optimised smartphone apps to be displayed and controlled with their original look and feel from the vehicle’s touchscreen.
The Autobiography and Autobiography Dynamic get a new premium grille design, lower front valance, jewel-like headlights, tail lamps and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. Autobiography ingot badging on the tailgate and front fender vents provides further visual differentiation. A new and striking premium metallic body colour called phoenix orange also debuts across the Dynamic Evoque derivatives.
Inside, the Autobiography is equipped with a luxurious leather interior in a selection of six colour palettes. Autobiography Dynamic customers can choose from a dynamic plus leather interior with either sports or premium climate seats and a choice of four colours. Headrests feature an Autobiography embossed logo whilst Autobiography illuminated tread plates greet you as you open the door.
The Autobiography is available with the Evoque’s 240 hp petrol or 190 hp diesel engines, together with the 9-speed ZF automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The Autobiography Dynamic gets an uprated 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 285 hp and 400 Nm of torque together with a more performance oriented 9-speed ZF transmission.
Active driveline, a system that switches between two and four-wheel drive, is optional on all Range Rover Evoque derivatives and comes as standard equipment on the Autobiography Dynamic. The steering of the Autobiography Dynamic has been specially tuned for additional on-centre precision and the chassis also features upgraded suspension geometry, firmer spring rates and recalibrated adaptive dampers.
The Autobiography Dynamic gets upgraded 350mm front brake discs and Torque Vectoring by Braking as standard.
