Cadillac have revealed a brand new compact luxury Coupe, the Cadillac ATS Coupe. The ATS Coupe has been officially presented at the Detroit Motor Show 2014. It will launch in the summer and continues the Cadillac’s brand extension. Turning the US-brand stereotype on its head, the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe has been designed to be lighter, more agile and more engaging than its competitors. Customers are presented with a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe will get two engine choices from launch. The first is a 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, upgraded from the current ATS sport sedan to deliver nearly 14 percent more torque. The figures are 272 horsepower with 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The second engine in the range is the 3.6 litre V6, rated at 321 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque (373 Nm). Both engines feature direct injection and dual overhead camshafts with continuously variable valve timing. Both engines feature a Hydra-Matic 6L45 six-speed automatic transmission with tap-shift control. A six-speed manual is also available with the 2.0L Turbo.

In terms of performance, the fastest Cadillac ATS Coupe is able to achieve an estimated 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds. The suspension features five-link independent rear suspension featuring lightweight, high-strength steel and efficient straight link designs. It also gets a multi-link double-pivot MacPherson-strut front suspension with direct-acting stabiliser bar.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe gets a driver-adjustable FE3 sport suspension as an option which includes Magnetic Ride Control, a mechanical limited-slip differential, high-capacity engine cooling system and 18-inch summer-performance tires. Brembo front brakes are a further option.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe rides on the same 2.78 metre wheelbase as the sedan, but features its unique bodywork. It gets its own front fascia and front fenders which accommodate a wider track than the sedan. It is also the first production model to wear Cadillac’s revised crest. The overhangs are short and the car is fitted with a set of exclusive 18-inch wheels as standard.

The Cadillac ATS Coupe also get LED headlamps with Adaptive Forward Lighting. Base models feature projector-beam headlamps, while high-intensity-discharge headlamps and front vertical LED lights are included on all but the standard model. Illuminated outside door handles are provided on the Performance and Premium collections. All models feature LED taillamps and rear-center stop lamp.

Inside, the sedan’s interior carries over to the Coupe. It features handcrafted cut-and-sewn upholstered interior combinations, decorative stitching and authentic materials, including leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and wood. A navigation system is available on Luxury and Performance collections, and it is standard with the Premium Collection and Bose sound systems are available as an option.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is fitted with the Cadillac CUE system. It is available as an option on base models and comes fitted as standard on Luxury, Performance and Premium collections. It includes a variety of connectivity features controlled via an eight-inch LCD multi-touch sensitive screen, integrated into the top of the central instrument panel. OnStar 4G LTE connectivity is also featured with a new built-in Wi-Fi hotspot that can connect up to seven devices at once.
