Detroit 2014: Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge

Infiniti, the Red Bull Racing sponsors have blurred the lines between racing and luxury and have revealed at the Detroit Motor Show 2014 a spectacular concept named the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept after what is arguably the most famous corner in Formula 1, Eau Rouge at Spa. GTspirit was on hand to capture the following live images of it!

At the front the face of the Q50 Eau Rouge Concept has a very aggressive look with massive intakes and a carbon fiber splitter as well as the carbon fiber roof, side sills and door mirrors. The rear of the car now looks butch and wide, Infiniti promises a carbon fiber rear splitter, dual exhaust and a large integrated rear spoiler.

The car has been finished in ‘Rouge’, hence the name, and has been contrasted beautifully by the aforementioned carbon parts and the beautifully intricate lightweight 21-inch wheels finished in black that hide massive red Brembo brakes.

While details about the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept’s engine have yet to be revealed, it is expected to be a heavily revised and upgraded variant of the twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter V6 engine of the standard Q50. However, in Eau Rouge specification (named after the famous corner at Spa-Francorchamps), that powerplant could deliver upwards of 500 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque! If that were true, then it would lift it will above the 431 hp of the new 2014 BMW M3 and the next-gen C63 AMG expected to deliver around 450 hp!
