Just a couple of days ago, Chevrolet released the first teaser image of the upcoming 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06. At the same time, the American firm confirmed that the new performance oriented Corvette would debut at the Detroit Motor Show 2014 in January.
Now this image has become viral online and reportedly showcases the new Corvette Stingray Z06 completely uncovered for the very first time and on first impressions, it looks utterly awesome. However, all is not as it seems.
This particular Corvette features the same black and yellow paintjob as the recent teaser image showed and also features identical wheels. However, one feature which is different between this car and the official Z06 teased is the different side vents behind the front wheels. What’s more, a bit of investigation reveals that this image was actually based off a picture of the regular Corvette from a couple of months ago.
Nevertheless, this blurry rendering does feature an aggressive carbon fiber bootlid spoiler as well as a brand new hood expected to be hiding a supercharger. Further indicating that this is the case is that the hood features a prominent power dome believed to be hiding a thoroughly upgraded engine. Both of these features could appear on the real thing. Additional changes include black wing mirrors as well as an aggressive carbon fiber front splitter. Further changes are expected at the rear, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to see those.
