Caterham-Renault Sports Car Could Spawn Further Collaborations

Work on the Renault and Caterham joint sports car is well underway. While very few details about the upcoming sports car are known, a prototype was spied testing disguised as a widebody Lotus Exige S at the infamous Nurburgring.

As one would imagine, Renault and Caterham have formed a close partnership during the course of the sports car’s development, and now Caterham Chairman Tony Fernandes has revealed that Renault could help Caterham with its future plans to create a small city car as well as a new affordable crossover.

While these two vehicles are still a few years away from seeing the light of day, seeing the build quality of Renault combined with the lightweight philosophy of Caterham certainly has the makings of something very special.

While also discussing the Renault and Caterham sports car, Fernandes revealed that the car will be one the French can be proud of.
