Tokyo Auto Salon 2013

Most manufacturers are taking advantage of the Tokyo Auto Salon 2013 being on the same days as the Los Angeles Motor Show 2013 this year. Porsche are one example, taking the Porsche Macan range to both sides of the Pacific. We have a set of photos showing the Porsche Macan Turbo at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2013!

The Porsche Macan is Porsche’s entry level SUV. Much like the Cayman and Boxster aimed to do for the 911 range, it is hoped that the Macan will become Porsche’s top-selling SUV. From launch, two models will be available; the Porsche Macan S and the Porsche Macan Turbo.

The Porsche Macan Turbo features a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 400 hp at 6000 rpm. This power has been achieved thanks to the turbochargers running boost pressure of 17.4 psi. Consequently, the SUV will sprint from 0 to 96 km/h in just 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 263 km/h. When it is equipped with the Sport Chrono package the 0-96 km/h sprint drops to 4.4 seconds. Just like the standard Macan S, the Macan Turbo is fitted standard with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission.
