The team at AMS Performance have just released their latest in a long line of Alpha tuning packages for the Nissan GT-R. This latest package dubbed the Alpha 7 Performance Package provides the ultimate reliable power from the GT-Rs standard turbochargers.
Previously, potential Alpha customers had the choice of the Alpha 6 package or the much more brutal Alpha 9 package. However, AMS Performance decided there was a need for an in-between tuning package thus leading to the Nissan GT-R Alpha 7 Package by AMS Performance.
When Nissan was originally designing the GT-R, a lot of power was intentional untapped thus meaning AMS Performance is able to significantly increase the car’s power without any dramatic engine modifications. As the same suggests, the Nissan GT-R Alpha 7 Package by AMS Performance delivers a total of 700 hp.
That increased power has been achieved through a tuned downpipe and exhaust system, with the efficiency of the turbochargers increased, the fitment of improved intakes, a larger intercooler, boosted fuel delivery and improved cam timing characteristics and revised fuelling maps. As a result, 700 hp is created with torque now maxing out at 723 lb-ft.

While peak power and torque has been improved quite dramatically, the most significant changes can be found lower in the rev range. In fact, at 2500 rpm, the Nissan GT-R Alpha 7 Package by AMS Performance delivers 120 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque more than the standard Nissan GT-R.
