Overkill: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster Replica

If someone were to ask us how to buy a Lamborghini without having the money for a real thing, the last thing we’d suggest is buying or creating a replica. Not only is it straight-out illegal to blatantly copy an automaker’s design, when people find out your supercar replica is just that, a replica, you’ll be looked down upon in disgust.

Nevertheless, some people enjoy expressing their passion for supercars such as Lamborghinis by creating replicas. This latest Lamborghini replica is based around the one of 15 Lamborghini Reventon Roadster from a few years back.

Built around a steel frame with body panels constructed out of what appears to be fiberglass, this Lamborghini Reventon Roadster replica certainly isn’t the worst Lamborghini replica going around but that’s not really any form of praise.

Overkill: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster Replica

From the above images, it’s impossible to tell if this Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is functional and even it features a working engine don’t expect anything special. While this replica could certainly fool many non-car enthusiasts, we’d like to think that the fuel pumping through your veins sort of car nuts like us wouldn’t even venture down the replica car path.

The real Lamborghini Reventon Roadster is powered by the same howling 6.5-liter V12 engine as the range-topping Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV. That engine pumps out a mighty 670hp at 8000rpm and 660Nm of torque at 6000rpm. Consequently, the Lamborghini Reventon Roadster can rocket from 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds and sprint all the way to a 205mph top speed.

  1. judging by the key on the interior shot I am going to go with a Porsche Boxster based chassis underneath all that fibreglass

  2. If you look the picture that shows the interior, you can see the keys hanging on the ignition and that is clearly a Porsche logo on them, so it seems pretty legit that this used to be a boxter, at least I hope they didn't chop a carrera cabrio

  3. The author berates the builder of this replica. And the author is WRONG. Anyone that builds a car from the ground up has made a real achievement. Let alone one with this level of fitment and function.

With what the author said I have to come to the conclusion that he belives that James Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5 is also a pile of shit not worthy of even a digital photo.

This car is far from perfect but the builder has done a ton to get it to this point.

The author appears to be a stuck up snob that must only drink Perrier and Henri IV Dudognon Cognac. If you are going to be a prick stay away from the automotive scene where hard work and vigilance is appreciated.

I agree with Nick Williams it is based on a boxster

  4. Why do any of you even care? You spend so much time worrying about what others are doing that you don't sit and think about the fact that half of you couldn't afford the replica let alone the real thing. Let people have there little hopes, dreams, and or hobbie. To each there own, and just because you all don't agree with the thought of a replica (guess what?!!!) you opinion doesn't matter because it wasn't for you in the first place.

  5. Who would employ this writer. 2016 AND WE STILL APPLAUD THE BUILDER OF THIS CAR…not the writer of the article. Must be that the writer has no wrench skills but talks crap to people that do. I have been a Master Mechanic for over 15 years and work on only top line cars…I would never LOOK DOWN on anyone that built one of these. If they have the skills to put in the wrench time and create something from nothing like this… Then only a subservient tard would talk crap about it. Not to mention most of you couldn’t afford the lug nuts on that car so building a replica is an absolute form of flattery…

  6. this was one of my cars built on a Porsche boxster s of course we stretched it to the correct body length and powers by the Porsche 6 cylinder with tiptronic paddle shifters
