Official: 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport

Land Rover has just taken the wraps off the 2014-specification Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models ahead of the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2013. Because the redesigned Range Rover is still so new, changes are limited yet still quite noteworthy.

Straight out the gate, the 2014 Range Rover and 2014 Range Rover Sport can now be equipped with a Black Design Pack which incorporates a selection of black accents around the car. This includes a new black grille, black roof, wing mirrors, side vents and door handles. Completing these visual upgrades are a new set of alloy wheel available in either 21-inch of 22-inch.

Most significantly, the 2014 Range Rover Sport can now be optioned with a new 4.4-liter SDV8 diesel engine. This new powerplant delivers a total of 339hp and 516lb-ft of torque and is mated to an eight-speed ZF transmission meaning the regular Range Rover still hasn’t received the nine-speed gearbox of the 2014 Evoque. Nevertheless, the new Range Rover Sport is still good for a 0-100km/h sprint in just 6.9 seconds and when optioned with the Dynamic Pack, a top speed of 140mph.

Inside, the 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are fitted with a plethora of new safety options such as Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Perpendicular Park. Additional options include the InControl system which creates a WiFi hotspot as well as stolen vehicle tracking (that could be handy!)
