Chevrolet has announced plans to produce 500 special edition 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Editions to celebrate production of the new seventh-generation Corvette beginning.
All units are based on the top-of-the-line 3LT models and feature a Laguna Blue Tintcoat exterior finish accompanied by Brownstone suede in the cabin. Further interior changes include suede-wrapped interior trim and carbon fiber accents as well as an exclusive numbered ‘Stingray’ plaque.
From the outside, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition then features an exposed carbon fiber roof, a variable une performance exhaust system while also coming standard with the otherwise optional Z51 Performance Pack which includes an advanced Magnetic Selective Ride Control. Additionally, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition also comes with a full set of custom Corvette-branded luggage produced by Thule.
Further distinguishing the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition from the regular C7 Corvette Stingray is that all Premiere models are set to incorporate a custom vehicle identification number beginning with 300001.
From a performance standpoint, the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Premiere Edition features the same engine as the standard car. The new car is the most powerful base Chevrolet Corvette ever produced, with an estimated 450hp being produced for its new generation LT1 GM V8 engine. As a result, the new car surpasses the previous generation base C6 substantially in every performance aspect and is able to launch to 100km/h in under four seconds, pulling over 1G when cornering and being able to stop from 100km/h in a similar time to the Z06 Corvette.
