Spyshots: 2014 Range Rover Sport RS Snapped at the 'Ring

Range Rover is currently developing an even more potent variant of the 2014 Range Rover Sport with an uprated and disguised Range Rover Sport RS model being snapped undergoing testing near the Nurburgring circuit in Germany.

The following images were captured by AutoExpress and the prototype in question features an extensive list of visual upgrades including much larger and more aggressive front air intakes as well as a larger front bumper.

Furthermore, this Range Rover Sport RS prototype is riding a lot closer to the ground than the regular Range Rover, indicating that the car will ride on stiffer suspension with the exterior differences then being completed with 21-inch black wheels.

Powering the Range Rover Sport RS will be the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 unit of the standard Range Rover Sport, however power is expected to be lifted to a Jaguar XK-RS equalling 542hp and 680Nm of torque. As a result, the Range Rover Sport RS should accelerate to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds.

As a result of this extra power, the car will inevitably require larger brakes and these are expected to come in the form of fade-free Brembo carbon-ceramic discs while tweaks will then be made to the traction control system, steering, transmission and dampers.

The car should be launched within the next 12 months for a price around the 100,000 pound mark.
