Spyshots: Baby Maserati Ghibli Snapped in Germany

Maserati has been testing a baby version of the Maserati Quattroporte for some time now, and the codenamed ‘M157’ better known as the Maserati Ghibli was recently spotted testing in Germany.

The Maserati Ghibli is set to be a smaller and more affordable version of the Maserati Quattroporte and is set to compete with the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class when it’s eventually launched sometime this year.

Unfortunatly for Maserati diehards, the Ghibli will share much of its technology with the Chrysler 300 and will actually utilise a slightly modified version of the Chrysler 300’s chassis. Additionally, the car is set to feature more technology from Chrysler than Maserati itself.

Included in this technology will be Chrysler’s 3.5-liter V6 Pentastar engine rumoured to pump out between 375 and 400hp when fitted in the Ghibli.

Fortunatly however, the Maserati Ghibli will also be offered with the Ferrari derived V8 engine of the new Quattroporte.
