Pinned as the ultimate road-going Porsche when it was released, the Porsche Carrera GT was the company’s first dramatic departure from the 911 of the day and with the car soon to be replaced by the upcoming Porsche 918 Spyder at the Geneva Motor Show 2013, we thought we’d send out the Porsche Carrera GT in fitting fashion with a video from M5boarddotcom of the V10-powered supercar drag racing a Koenigsegg CCR.
Now while this race may seem quite unfair, as the Koenigsegg is clearly the quicker of the two, it’s an interesting match up to see two supercars which were at the absolute upper echelon of the supercar market when they were introduced around 10 years ago.
Fast forward to 2013, and the Koenigsegg CCR’s eventually predecessor, the CCX has been replaced with the Agera and ultimately the Agera R, while the Porsche Carrera GT will be superseded by the 918 Spyder. As a result, this race essentially puts together two of the most impressive supercars from the 2000’s in a battle for bragging rights.
