The Pagani Huayra set a new record on the Top Gear Test Track with a lap time of 1:13.8. The Pagani Huayra record lap aired in Top Gear Season 19 Episode 1. To put it in perspective, the previous fastest lap was held by the Ariel Atom V8 with 1:15.1, followed by the McLaren 12C Coupe and Lamborghini Aventador who lapped the Top Gear circuit in 1:16.2 and 1:16.5.

The official record only takes into account street legal cars, the unofficial record also includes lap times from non-street legal cars like the Pagani Zonda R (1:08.5) and Ferrari FXX (1:10.7). For more on the already iconic Pagani Huayra check out our Pagani Huayra review!

  1. sorry but cant believe in that.. how can brutal single clutch "heavy" hypercar can by 1.3 sec faster than 1000 bhp/tone racing car that v8 atom really is.. maybe theyve got new and faster Stig.

  2. Martin Musil, the Pagani isn't a heavy hypercar, its pretty light, and the beauty of Active Aerodynamics is it creates alooot of down-force, downforce that is there for the corners when you need it and that go away when you need speed not grip. Plus the Aerial atom doesn't have much going for itself in term of down-force so in corners it slips and slides.

  3. twin turbo huayra just 3 seconds ahead of naturally aspirated lambo aventador? I wonder if lambo have twin turbo and huayra can beat it…. :/
