In the latest episode of Chris Harris on Cars for the Drive channel on YouTube, Chris Harris was lucky enough to be thrown the keys to the brand new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT and what’s more, he was also able to throw Mercedes’ most powerful production car around the famous Hockenheim Formula One circuit in Germany!

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT features a selection of performance upgrades over previous models, with maximum power of the 6.3 liter AMG-sourced V8 engine rising to 591 horsepower at 6,800rpm and 650Nm of torque at 4,750rpm.

Additional performance improvements can from the optimised AMG Speedshift DCT seven-speed sports transmission which provides quicker gear changes and consequently, the SLS GT AMG can launch to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds, before topping out at an electronically limited top speed of 320km/h.

Minor upgrades have also been performed on the interior with the addition of the new Design styling package being the largest change, while the vast list of optional extras from the old SLS AMG can also be optioned on the new GT.
