Audi UK revealed the recommended retail price for a 2013 Audi R8 recently. Customers wanting the new 7-speed S tronic will have to part with £94,475 for the V8 Coupe, whereas, the V10 Coupe will cost £115,575 and the range topping V10 Plus will be £127,575. Customers wanting a manual 6-speed transmission will pay £91,575 for the V8 Coupe, £112,675 for the V10 Coupe and £124,675 for the V10 Plus.
Prices for the V8 Spyder will be £100,225 and £103,125 with the later being the S-tronic price. For the V10 Spyder, prices will be £121,325 and £124,225 respectively. By way of comparison, the previous R8 V10 Spyders sold for £111,955 and £117,155.
The main changes for the facelift include the seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission which replaces the six-speed automated manual R tronic, a redesigned front bumper with new LED headlamps which are standard on all versions and a new rear end including LED taillights, a redesigned ‘R8’ logo, a restyled diffuser and new exhaust tips. Interior trim levels also benefit from the refresh.
The base V8 and V10 models remain unchanged, however, Audi has introduced a new Audi R8 V10 Plus model, available only as a coupe. It develops 550hp, with maximum torque of 540Nm at 6,500rpm. With the S tronic gearbox, the R8 V10 plus catapults from zero to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and achieves a top speed of 317km/h. The key data with the manual transmission are 3.8 seconds and 319km/h.
