Jaguar F-Type at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012

Jaguar released a series of short films recently offering a behind the scenes look at the development of the Jaguar F-Type. The videos reveal how passionate Jaguar are about their newest model. The first features Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s Global Brand Director and highlights how the F-Type fits into Jaguar’s future. The second features Jaguar’s Design Director, Ian Callum, exploring the design, performance and agility of the F-Type design.

The F-Type has been a new experience for the British car maker. It’s the first time Jaguar have developed such an important model in full view of the general public. The F-Type made its first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last weekend. Whereas development mules for other Jaguars have publicly used twitter hashtags to generate buzz, Jaguar executives chose to allow the public to get up close to the F-Type development mule and hear it on the historic hillclimb.

Powered by a supercharged V6 or V8 engine, the F-Type is currently undergoing development prior to going on sale mid-2013. The new F-Type was introduced at the New York Motor Show a few weeks ago. The sports car is based on the C-X16 Concept released at the IAA Motor Show in September of 2011.

Those interested in the car can register their interest at www.f-type.com, like Jaguar on Facebook, follow on twitter and join the conversation with the hashtag #FTYPE
