Mercedez-Benz officially unveiled the CLS Shooting Brake yesterday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The German manufacturer also showed a camouflaged example of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake. But now a video has leaked showing the most powerful edition of the shooting brake ahead of its official debut scheduled for the German Formula One Grand Prix at Hockenheim later this month.

The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake uses the same drivetrain as its four-door sports-coupe sibling, the CLS 63 AMG. Thus the car will be powered by a 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine which offers 525 horsepower and 700Nm of torque. This should enable the Shooting Brake to accelerate from standstill to 100km/h in approximately 4.5 seconds, while its top speed will be limited at 250km/h.

There is even more power available in combination with the optional AMG Performance Package, which rises the output to 557hp and 800Nm. Thanks to this, the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake’s top speed increases by 30km/h, bringing the total to 280km/h.

Sales of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will start this Autumn, shortly after the market introduction of the regular version.
