GoldRush Rally is back for the 2012 season. The event kicks off this Saturday, 9th June, so we thought we’d issue you with an essential guide, prepared to allow you to follow the cars and the teams along the route! This year the rally starts in Los Angeles, California on the US West Coast and ends in Miami, Florida on the US East Coast!
GoldRush 4 starts on June 9th when everyone arrives to register at the Beverly Wilshire where you’ll be able to catch the cars all day before the set off on Sunday June 10th at 9:30am. From Los Angeles, the cars head over to the The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona for an overnight stop, arriving by 7.30pm. Monday will be an earlier 8.30am start with a final destination of The Palazzo, Las Vegas for 8pm. This marks the end of the West Coast leg and the start of the East Coast leg!
After transporting all the cars to Atlanta by air, GoldRush will leave Las Vegas on 13th. This means everyone gets a full day of rest at the Palazzo! Arrival at the Atlanta W Hotel Midtown will be by 6pm while those doing the East Coast-only leg will be registering in Atlanta between 10:00am and 4pm. The rally will roll into Panama City on Thursday next week before heading off to Orlando on the Friday. The Orlando hotel will be The Ritz-Carlton Orlando with arrivals from 6pm on June 14th.
The final day will see a 7.00am start to catch the duPont Registry Cars and Coffee in St. Petersberg Florida before catching the finish line at the Fountainbleau, Miami for 7pm. That makes the West leg 691 miles with three destinations while the East leg comes in at 885 miles with four destinations.
If you’ve caught our earlier posts, you’ll know that the lineup looks extremely promising! So far, we’ve heard that three different Veyron’s will be in attendance as well as a Ferrari F40. At least one Lamborghini Aventador, two Lamborghini Gallardo’s and a Lamborghini Murcielago have also been confirmed. For the full list check out here.
By way of reminder, the official charity is the Taylor Lynn Foundation. They will be participating in a McLaren MP4-12C, specially wrapped for the rally. They will be collecting donations in exchange for gold stars which will be added on to the car during the rally. The Taylor Linn Foundation offers ‘microGRANTS’ to children to give them the opportunity to participate in an activity or function that they would not be able to otherwise. To donate, please visit their website.
Facebook pages to follow include Luxury4Play who will repost plenty of images, the official GoldRush page which will be updated from the road. There’s also a dedicated forum over at Luxury4Play where you’ll find further information and a website. The Taylor Lynn Foundation can be found on Facebook too.
