Hennessey Performance CEO John Hennessey has stated that a Hennessey Twin-Turbo Ford GT has set a new Texas Mile record. The Texas Mile Run is an event created for performance enthusiasts to test themselves and their motorized equipment at an one-mile track. The annual event is held in Texas, USA.

246.8mph is the new record for the Texas Mile, only for cars running on the Chase Field runway in Beeville. The record follows last year’s attempt where they reached 235mph in the same car.

The CEO sends all his congrats to owner Mark Heidaker and driver Sean Kennedy. GTspirit.com does the same on behave of all our readers.

John also said he even thinks that the car has a bit more in it. So stay tuned for more in the coming days.

Update: Today it did a 257.7mph at the same event on the same track! Check the video below for the record-winning standing mile run.
