A year after the introduction of the gullwing Hamann Hawk SLS AMG its topless counterpart celebrates its debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. The Hamann Hawk SLS AMG Roadster program features a set of aerodynamic components, performance enhancements, stainless-steel exhaust systems, 21 inch light-metal rims and interior modifications.
Part of the power enhancements is an exhaust system made out of stainless steel and a sports air filter. The components are precisely adjusted with the help of a new engine map for the motor electronics. With a performance of 636hp and a maximum torque of 680Nm at 4,850rpm, the two-seater accelerates from zero to 100km/h in only 3.6 seconds up to a top speed of 320km/h.
The Hamann Hawk Roadster front apron replaces the serial bumper, has larger air inlets and a new LED light unit. In addition, the enlarged air inlets provide more fresh air to the engine. Subsequently, the air is drawn out of the new bonnet made of checkered flag carbon. The wings make the roadster 60mm wider on each front side and 70mm on each rear side. Side skirts make the convertible look additionally lower and more stretched. The new rear apron with the diffuser enhances the air flow under the bottom of the car and provides room for four end pipes each measuring 90mm in diameter.
Hamann fitted single-part light forged wheels named Unique Forged Anodized in 21 inches. These are fitted in 9Jx21 with tyres measuring 245/30 ZR21 at the front and 12.5Jx21 with tyres measuring 345/25 ZR21 at the rear axle. The coilover kit has been fitted and equipped with four height-adjustable dampers and four progressively wound springs. The center of gravity can be lowered by up to 30 millimeters.
The new interior has leather applications and ultra-suede embroideries replacing the serial interior. Hamann additionally swapped the air inlets, door sill protectors and center console with red coloured carbon fiber parts. Black anodized aluminium pedals provide a comfortable grip for the driver’s feet. The highlight of the new interior is the new steering wheel, which has been ergonomically redesigned.
