BMW is working on a new range of high-performance cars. Previously the German carmaker released teasers featuring the first diesel powered M — the X6 M50d. A similar variant for the 5-series, named the BMW M550d xDrive is also in the pipeline.

The Munich based carmaker also recently officially announced they will unveil a new product range at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 in March. This package named BMW M Performance Automobiles will offer exclusive engine variants, enhanced agility and precision on the road, plus a different design details.

Besides the normal M-models, the line-up of powerful BMW’s will extended with the M135i with an output of 320 horsepower, and the diesel powered M550d and X6 M50d with performance figures on par with the M5 and X6M.

Furthermore two other diesel powered high-performance BMW’s – the M650d and M750d – will join the fleet as well. These cars will be powered by the same 3.0 liter six cylinder engine as the M550d and X6 M50d. Thanks to its triple turbos this engine will produce 381hp and 740Nm of torque.

The M650d is scheduled for next year, but the M750d will be launched later this year. It is also interesting to notice this will be the first M-powered version of BMW’s luxurious flagship.

Last but not least, the BMW M135i will come as coupé and convertible and will hit the markets in the beginning of next year. It is rumored these models will be branded as BMW 2-Series in order to make room for the new family of front wheel drive BMW’s and to differentiate the cars from the other models from the 1-Series.

One thing is for sure, the coming months will be exciting for BMW and its fans!
