Spyshots 2014 BMW F32 M3 Test Mule

These are the first spyshots of the brand new 2014 BMW M3, codenamed F3x, according to Dutch magazine Autowereld.com. The new BMW M3 will be available only in Coupe and Convertible models, but the test mule we see here looks like a sedan with four doors. So what’s the deal here?

BMW M Gmbh is getting back to basics with their next BMW M3. It is reportedly going to get an all-new six-cylinder engine boosted by three turbos. Two of them are conventional units connected to exhausts, and the other is powered by electricity. The total output is expected to be around 450hp.

The sports car will also be lighter thanks to carbon fiber-reinforced plastic body panels, which are as light as carbon fiber but less expensive and easier to repair. The weight saving is expected to be around 50%.

  1. You guys amaze me sometimes. It is obvious you have no idea what you are talking about, but please do a little research before writing articles.
    Please, tell me which car is made only by carbon fibers. I’ll be glad to learn how that works.
    Let me enlighten you. All so called carbon-fiber panels are actually carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP). The fibers by themselves are soft. To give them structural strength you glue them together with some kind of polymer most often epoxy. There are a few different technologies some including baking under pressure others not, but the key point is you have to use polymer which makes the panel made from CFRP not carbon-fibers alone. The same deal with the Kevlar panels and glass-fiber panels. You have fiber and polymer, combined together equals composite material composed by the two of them.
