There are true collecters items in the automotive world and one of those is for sale. This McLaren F1 GTR is a racing variant of the McLaren F1 sports car. McLaren built 105 F1s in total, consisting of 64 standard models, five LMs, three GTs, 28 GTRs and five prototypes.
Most of these 28 F1 GTRs were used in racing, only a handful of these cars were extensively modified by McLaren to make them street-legal. These F1 GTRs are considered the ultimate versions of the road car, since they weigh considerably less than any of the other street cars.
This car is painted in McLaren orange, has driven only 300km and for sale by Cars Limited Series in Murcia, Spain for € 2,800,000.
Wow, I think 2,8 mil is not a bad price for a must have in every serious car collection. It might fetch double that in ten years from now.
I reckon it’s a bit overpriced Des.
Don’t like the red plate on it either, needs a British plate on it!
The homepage of the dealer looks like made by a 12 yrs old.
i agree with CGT, it looks like a gipsy made it
*GFWilliams – British plate sucks, dont idea why one is white and second yellow and not made from sheet aluminum like for exaple germans had. Otherwise in Spain they’ve got standard european plates white with black number and blue strip on the left, no idea why McLaren gots red plate.
The red plate means it’s a temporary plate only valid for a certain period.
I wish I have money to buy this one…
*Des – Thank you:)
This advertisement is probably not real.
These photos are from 2005 and the red plate has been Photoshopped into the images. Here’s the original “front view” photo:

There’s also no way this car has 300 kms on it, nor does a GTR like this one ever command such a high price.

The price is listed. More reading, less posting.
Still my favorite car of all time
hi, is this car still for sell? where is this car about?
i’m wondering do u do export car to HK or China.
Cos i’m looking for LHD Super car. if u do, pls let me know, many thanks
pls contact me by e-mail, cos i’m away at the moment.
Nice car,. most people, including me would be better off with a 40k 355 and keep the rest. Given the economic climate you would have to question paying anyone 2.8 mil for a 20 year old car.
I could tell by starting and driving it. It would be obvious if it takes more than 4 sec to 100 kph.
