McLaren F1

According to Leftlanenews, McLaren is planning to launch a successor of the epic F1 road car in 2012. The development of the new vehicle has started in 2009 and the British car maker is well ahead of schedule with a production model to be showcased in about two years time.

McLaren insiders have described the F1 as “revolutionary”. The new car will have visual ties to the original car, but expect the 2012 F1 to be a radically forward-thinking vehicle. It is uncertain if the new F1 will keep its original center seating position. We do expect a lot of carbon fiber and lightweight materials.
