Rumours 2011 Jaguar XJ Electric Hybrid

Rumours suggest that Jaguar is working on a new electric version of its uncoming 2010 Jaguar XJ. The hybrid four-door saloon is expected to make its debut later this year.

The setup will be similar to the Chevrolet Volt. The car will have the option of runnning entirely on batteries for a defined period. Recharging is done via an external power supply or the petrol engine on board the vehicle.

Range is expected to be a minimum of 48km (30miles) on just the battery at a top speed of about 180km/h (112mph).

In addition, Jaguar and Land Rover are working on some full hybrids, micro-hybrids, smaller diesel engines and turbocharged petrol engines.

You can surely say that the downsizing story has it the shores of Britain.
