ABT Golf R

ABT have a series of models to show off at this years Geneva Auto Salon. VW Golf fans will be interested to see their Golf R project which benefits from an extra 40bhp as well as a number of visual enhancements. The modifications are minimal in comparison to other cars that ABT have produced, however it is still an interesting prospect as an everyday car.

ABT have added an ECU re-tune to release the extra power from the Golf R’s 2.0 TSI engine. Top speed is now 261km/h (162mph) and the 100km/h (62mph) benchmark is reached in just 5.2 seconds. Aerodynamics are served by the new front skirt and front lip spoiler incorporating a set of ABT’s daytime running lights.

The final modification comes in the form of the new CR alloy wheels. At 20 inches they fill the R’s wheel arches perfectly. ABT also offer a set of sports tyres to go with the package.

  1. Somehow we missed that ABT was building this little monster. I don’t know about rolling on 20’s but the rest of cars sounds solid!
