Renders New Lamborghini Murcielago

The Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV released in Geneva earlier this year is the last chapter for the Lamborghini Murcielago. The successor of the Murcielago is not expected to hit the market until 2012 but Autoexpress released some renders today of what they think the new Lamborghini will look like.

It’s expected that the new Lamborghini will combine an aluminium spaceframe chassis supplied by Audi with a carbon fibre bodyshell. This would significantly reduce the weight compared to the Murcielago. Power is expected to come from a 6.0-litre V12 with around 700bhp, together with the reduced weight and four-wheel drive this could mean 0-100 sprint times in just over 3 seconds.

The looks in this render show that the new Lambo will be wider and longer, taking some design elements from the Gallardo LP560. It’s said that this new Murcielago might also follow in Lamborghini’s plans to make a Hybrid Gallardo. More remarkable is the possible use of a start-stop system that turns off the engine when it’s not needed per example at traffic lights, this is a function we would disable straight away but in the current climate even Lamborghini can’t avoid reducing emissions.

  1. They took the front spoiler and the wheels from the Estoque and put them on a Murceliago… lazy… anyway I hope they’re wrong because they didn’t solve the big lambo’s problem: the hips, there’s still a problem with the hips.

  2. This surely isn’t the Murcielago successor, the specs sound right but the drawing is just a mix of Murcielago and Estoque … I’m sure Lamborghini will put together something more intimidating than this rendering.

  3. I think the new murcielago will not be as lazy as that rendering. it will do to the murc what the 458 italia did to the f430. it will look rubbish and you will hate it. then the next morning you wake up and decide its the best and you want it! :P

  4. I think the new murielago is a sweet ride; its good to come up with something new once in a while, but I still think they should produce a sedan/hybrid version also. I always did like the way the murciealgo was designed, but with the Estoque’s features, that just makes it a whole lot better, Lamborghini will probably get alot of hits for this ride!

  5. The front end looks good but the rear looks exactly like the Estoque concept . it needs some work , they should introduce a hybrid Electro- Lamborghini i think thats What Ferrocio Would of Wanted He First Started Making Battery,s then Tractors and Then a Sports Coupe The Design Needs to be Researched Throughout ,there are People Like Pagani That Are Starting to ,Blast the SuperCar Establishment So Lamborghini Needs to Hire More Designers Like Me.
