Spy Shots Audi R8 V10 Spyder

The Audi R8 V10 has been around for some months now but it looks like a convertible is heading our way. LeftLaneNews spotted the hot wheels during the making of the new movie Iron Man II, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. They caught Downey Jr. driving a pre-production Audi R8 5.2-liter V10 convertible while a camera car was driving next to it.

The pictures do show us a full production trim, even the V10 badges are placed on the sides. The best you can get just before the release at the Frankfurt Motor Show next september. It even looks like that the V10 will be the only version offered as convertible.

  1. Not a fan of the rear, especially the engine cover. audi could have done something a little better. it looks similar to the gallardo cab, they should have used something similar to display the engine. my two cents.

  2. looks like they are filming off of Pacific coast highway.

and i agree they should display the engine some how. that’s be sick!!

  3. I do like this rear end. And the fact that they got rid of the black panels on the sides… if they keep on this way I might even like the R8 one day.

  4. The car looks great. Love the back side too! Like others I agree they should show off the engine bay more and not cover it up. Got my deposit down on this back in 2006 so hoping I’ll be one of the first in the UK to take delivery of it in 2010 ;-)

  5. big mistake not to show the engine bay with the glass cover. This is what makes it “moving art” especially with the LED’s showcasing the engine. now it looks like the engine cover came out of the Gallardo bin.
