Hennessey have always been all about the power, their cars are consistently pumping out insane levels of power, their packages for the 2009 ZR1 are no different! The Texas company, based at the Lonestar Motorsports Park, have been busy at work releasing more power from the 6.2 litre LS9, coincidently the same engine that was slid into the Lotus Extrema we reported on last week.

The first video is the standard car, the second, the Hennessey tuned version:

The power figures read, 705bhp at 6,400 rpm and 717 lb-ft Torque at 3,800 rpm which on the dyno works out at around 51bhp and 75lb-ft extra on the tarmac. Hennessey like to produce their cars for the drag course so the later figures are important and allow for a 0-60mph time of 3.1 sec and a 1/4 mile of 11.0 at 136 mph (tested on factory Michelin tires). Top Speed is estimated at 212mph a healthy 7mph more than the standard cars.

To achieve these figures Hennessey has incoporated a series of comprehensive modifications, it seems they’ve kept the standard cars Eaton TVS R2300 supercharger and modified the pulley and blower snout upgrade, which alloys them to increase the boost from 11 to 14psi. There’s an intercooler system upgrade alongside a K&N air filter, a re-programed ECU and stainless steel 1 7/8 inch headers for the exhaust. High flow catalytic converters with mid pipes release more power.

Included, optionally, in the ZR700 package are Hennessey and ZR700 exterior badges. Hennessey ZR700 Premium Floor Mats finish the branding. All kit is professional installed at HPE and dyno testing to ensure tuning is to the exact specification.

Hennessey have also made available a kit called the ZR750 with 755bhp at 6,600 rpm and 730 lb-ft Torque at 4,000 rpm, This kit allows a 0-60 mph time of 2.9 sec and a 1/4 mile of 10.7 at 139 mph. The ZR750 top’s out at 217 mph, another 5mph faster that the ZR700. Ti achieve this package, Hennessey have modified the supercharger pulley to increase boost from 11 to 15 psi, added a new blower gasket, K&N air filter, re-programmed the ECU and increased the rev limiter by 200rpm.Stainless steel headers and high flow catalytic converters with mid pipes feature again with high flow cylinder heads and a camshaft upgrade. The intecooler upgrades from the ZR700 are also present as well as the badging and floor mats.
